CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Monday after they said he confessed to killing his neighbor's dog.

According to the incident report, the victim said he noticed his dog was acting strange and vomiting. He took the dog to the veterinarian's office where it was euthanized due to kidney failure. The vet told the man his dog had likely been poisoned with antifreeze.

The victim told deputies that his neighbor had been complaining about hte dog barking and he also pointed out a dead patch of grass on his lawn near the neighbor's fence. He said the patch smelled of antifreeze.

Deputies went to the suspect's home and they report he initially denied knowing anything about dumping antifreeze over his fence but as deputies began to drive away, they said he stopped them and confessed to dumping antifreeze over the fence to silence the dog..

The reporting deputy said he read Miranda Rights which the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Thomas R. Walker, waived.

After confessing via written statement and on video, Walker was charged with cruelty to animals. Walker was given a $25,000 bond.
